Pruning takes place between December and March. This is the longest and most expensive work carried out in the vineyard. It symbolizes the domestication of Vitis Vinifera by Civilization.

At Chateau Nine Peaks, the follow up of the pruning is quite crucial. Each year our staff follow a pre-season training in order to anticipate the layout of the future canopy, and reduce as well as possible the needs of green harvest.

Pruning the Chateau’s vineyard is executed according the Guyot system, simple or double.
