The harvest marks the end of the season and the growing cycle. At Chateau Nine Peaks the harvest begins in the end of August, initially with Chardonnay, and often continues from mid-September right to the end October: Our faithful late Cabernet Sauvignon takes time to show its outstanding face!

Each plot is harvested at a very specific schedule, according “customized” parameters based partly on analytical profile each year fine-tuned, and randomized berries tasting carried out by Jacky and Philippe.

Our key idea, remains to escape from over maturity and adjust- as good as we can- the future wine style taking account the conditions having prevailed during the vegetation cycle of the just elapsed vintage.
The harvest season at Chateau Nine Peaks winery bring together more than 120 temporary pickers living on the surrounding villages.
All our grapes are carefully handpicked and sorted in 12 kilograms open baskets. Later, at their arrival at the winery the berries will be sorted by hand on a sorting belt just after being de-stemmed.
